CHEROKEE COUNTY, Ga. -- A tourist drowned on vacation at Lake Allatoona on Sunday afternoon, authorities said. The 41-year-old man was visiting from New York for the Labor Day holiday weekend, police said. He was on a boat with friends when jumped into the 18-foot deep lake, and didn’t come back up.
